Weekly Wakelee

Dear Parents and Guardians,

iReady testing will begin next week for the month of January. I have attached a parent protocol informational document regarding the iReady testing, which includes information and expectations for students that will be taking the assessment at home. Please review this document, it explains the process and ways parents can establish a secure testing environment. Please note that the iReady diagnostic is an adaptive test, which means students will be asked questions that are above grade-level expectations. This is all part of the process of an adaptive test. If you are interested in bringing your full-time distance learner in for the testing sessions please email me and I can help make arrangements for testing. This is optional and not mandatory for distance learners. All in-person students will test in school.

We will be reviewing with students on Thursday, January 14th the protocols for a lockdown. In a typical year, students would go to the designated space in the classroom to practice the lockdown. For this practice drill, we will just review with students the expectations while they remain at their desks.

I have attached a copy of the January lunch menu, lunches will remain free to all students through to the end of the year. Please note that a correction has been made. The week of January 19th will be a 4 day in-person learning week. Students will be in person on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday of that week.

Starting on Monday, January 11th students that have money deposited into their lunch account will be allowed to purchase a snack during lunch. Parents can deposit money online or students can bring money to the cafe before school starts to deposit money. There will be a weekly rotation of one snack and cookie choice for students, all snacks are $1.00.
