SBAC Testing

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Assistant Superintendent Shawn Simpson sent home communication regarding the testing format for SBAC in May. I have also attached it for your reference. It is strongly recommended by Wolcott Public Schools and the Connecticut State Department of Education that in-person administration of the testing is the preferred method.

Please email Mrs. Onofreo and your child’s teacher by April 9th to inform them of your decision to test in person or stay remote for testing. In the few cases where a distance learner chooses to test remotely it will need to be on a school issued Chromebook with a secure browser. Please contact Mrs. Onofreo in the main office if you need to pick up a chromebook and she will make the necessary arrangements.

If your child is absent during testing due to illness then they will not test at home. They should be absent from school as a sick day and will make up the test session when they return.

The testing will begin with only grade 5 students testing the week of April 26th for NGSS (Science).

Starting May 3rd grades 3-5 will take the SBAC testing.

Please speak with your child in regards to getting plenty of rest and trying their best on the assessments.

Thank you,

Deborah Osvald
