Weekly Wakelee
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I would like to congratulate the Wakelee Conservation Cats! The group was awarded a $1500 grant from Recycle CT to purchase two water bottle filling stations for our school. Their proposal also included a fundraiser of refillable bottles to make up the difference in cost. I know that Wakelee students will enjoy using the new filling stations. Way to go Wakelee Conservation Cats: Rebecca Wood, Erik Lamphere, Isabella Medeiros, Jonathan Plona, Gianna Berube, and Chase Daloia.
The Pancakes for Paws was a great success and a donation of $1,385 was given to the Wolcott Dog Pound. The breakfast was hosted by Aaron Ehmer, Natalia Gajecki (Wakelee) and Julia Hall (Frisbie).
The students enjoyed a concert performed by the Wakelee Chorus. I am proud of our students who have worked since the start of the year in preparation. All the faculty and staff enjoyed the performance.
"Two-time Freestyle Frisbee Champion, Todd Brodeur, educates, entertains and motivates his audience with captivating Frisbee shows and interactive playshops." Todd Brodeur will be performing for our students on Friday, January 5th. "He promotes staying active throughout your life by playing disc sports. He focuses on healthy lifestyles, creativity, flexibility and balance, all aimed at improving self-esteem and confidence. World Class Frisbee Shows and Playshops teaches the next generation new ways to learn Frisbee skills that increase hand-eye coordination and all will have fun and success while exercising." http://www.toddbrodeur.com/index.php
I have attached the January lunch menu.
Enjoy the winter break!
